Save a Smile Initiative (SASI) is a registered Non Governmental Organization established in 2024, with a vision to have healthy communities where everyone, regardless of their geographical location, physical or intellectual ability has access to quality oral health care services.
In a world where every smile counts, SASI works to ensure that the radiance of these smiles is not dimmed by barriers such as distance or physical and intellectual disability. Everyone has a right to good oral health despite their socioeconomic, physical or mental status. Our mission is to ensure quality oral health for ALL by providing cost-free oral health promotion and preventive services for marginalised communities in Zambia.
Our organization came into existence due to the staggering oral health disparities currently being faced by persons living with disabilities in Zambia. This is due to a myriad of factors, among them being inadequate training of dental professionals on how to effectively manage non-compliant behavior and increase cooperation among patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Through various initiatives such as our flagship Save My Smile Project, we aim to address these oral health disparities. Therefore, join us and support us in our efforts towards championing inclusive oral healthcare in Zambia, by volunteering, becoming a member, donating, or partnering with us. Together, let us save smiles!
